Hi all, sorry to have to tell everyone that John Goode (Holmes Chapel BC from the beginning) has died – a stroke initially but, presumably, something else afterwards.
Great shock to everyone particularly those at last weekend's league Vets Tournament where he played - fit and keen as always !!
He played almost every Over 65's session we had over several years although he couldn't join in the last session as he had to take his wife Joan for chemotherapy.
No family apparently and no funeral (he wanted organ donation) although Holmes Chapel are having a Get-together to “Raise a glass” to John in Fox & Hounds, Holmes Chapel Road, Sproston CW4 7LW around 9pm Monday (20th).
I'm told anyone can go along, of course.
Very sad loss to our league & Holmes Chapel club – great “Club member” – every sport needs people like John !!
