The league held its presentation dinner on Saturday (11th May) at Crewe Golf Club. An excellent evening started off with a meal, followed by the presentation of the silverware for the season. Ruth Raiswell handed out the trophies to Dave Isherwood who as guest of honour presented them to the recipients. Brian Horrocks narrated the events of the season. Highlights were:

Presentation of the Baxter trophy (Inter-League) to some of the players who represented Crewe.

Tournament winners from the Masters, Handicap and Open tournaments

Divisional winners

John Ford trophy re-presented to Canute

A special award of the Stan Smith trophy for most improved player to Jake Hartley of Canute and Goostrey. Jake has excelled at performance cell, Junior League and most recently helping Goostrey to reach the John Ford final.

Presentation of the Inter-League Thornley trophy won by Crewe and represented on the night by Jake Hartley

Award of the Tony Hickson trophy for services to local badminton to Dave Isherwood whose prolific efforts in junior coaching are recognised for contribution to the players of tomorrow

The evening finished off with a quick quiz hosted by Mel Lievesley (won ironically by CEGELEC no impropriety we are assured) and secondly with a game of reverse bingo hosted by John Hunter. This is like Pointless (for those who watch it) the objective is not to get any numbers. The longest survivor not having a number called out was Chris Geal of Alsager.
