The quarter finals of the John Ford tournament took place over two nights last week.
In the first match Knutsford outscored Weaverham by 12 points. This was closer than expected and the handicappers had awarded Weaverham +81, so the winners were Weaverham by 69 points.
Next, Remnants played Crosses B. Remnants were the clear favourites so Crosses were given a handicap of +270. In the end Remnants only scored 241 more, so Crosses won by just 29 points. That's just 1.6 points per games.
In the third match, Crosses A took on Alsager. Alsager were awarded +67 but Crosses only outscored them by 21 points, leaving Alsager the winners by 46, which is only 2.5 points per game, still a very close result.
Finally Welsh Row took on Cegelec. The handicappers felt it would be close and gave Cegelec a small handicap of +12 points, but the match actually went the other way, with Cegelec winning by 59 and therefore ending up 71 points ahead.
Congratulations to the winning teams who progress to the semi finals.
