We have just completed round 3 (of 4) Junior League weekend at Holmes Chapel on 4th January. Another fine days Badminton played by dozens of great kids. This is the point where we play mini leagues over two sessions to determine the champions. For those clubs without any junior sections - this is what it should be about. The future of the game is there to see.

Division 1 sees Altrincham A,  who had a clean sweep, out ahead with 6 points and clear space over Sunrise A on 3 points. Wizards A on 2 points and Alsager A on 1 point  are in the mix so it is not cut and dried yet. Round 4 points will be added to these.

Division 2 is closer. Sunrise B on 5 points lead the way but Wizards B and Altrincham B both on 3 points will have much to say about it. Altrincham C did pick up a point but will find this tough going.

Division 3 has two contenders at this stage. Crosses had a clean sweep and lead on 6 points. Macclesfield are second on 4 points, so much to play for. Shavington A and Alsager B both on a point each have a lot to do but never say never.

Division 4 again has a split. Sunrise C on 6 points and Sunrise D on 4 points are looking good. Wizards C on 2 points can't be discounted. Altrincham D are yet to record a point and will find round 4 no easier.

So we meet again on Sunday March 9th at Shavington to decide who takes the silverware. Dave Sumner, Chris Geal and I will need to be there so apologies to Kara who cannot now enter us into either singles or doubles in the re-scheduled Open Tournament. We are all gutted. Maybe next year! We will, however, seek out the starlets of Junior Badminton and earmark them for Kara, the kids in Division 1 are not far off. At least one of them already participates in the Singes Ladder with some success.

Score sheets and tables will appear on the web site presently.
