Badminton England would like to invite you to apply to become part of our Disability Badminton Coach Mentoring Programme. This programme is delivered in partnership with WheelPower, Limb Power, Dwarf Sport Association UK and CP Sport, and aims to create role models within community environments.
The programme will upskill new coaches with a physical impairment by providing access to a Badminton Foundation Award and Level 2 Coaches qualification. Upon attending the Foundation Award, each coach will be linked with a local coach within a non-disabled or inclusive club to support their development throughout the Foundation Award and subsequent progression on to, and throughout, their Level 2 qualification.
The Foundation Award consists of two days (9am-5pm) face to face tutoring followed by an online assessment. The Foundation Award, specifically for this programme, will take place on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th November 2021 at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, Buckinghamshire (HP21 9PP) from 9am-5pm on both days. Please note, attendance is required at both days in order to complete the award.
The Level 2 Course consists of five days (9am-5pm); four days of face to face tutoring, followed by a practical face to face assessment. The course will take place across three weekends within a three month period. The Level 2 Course, will be specifically for this programme, and is due to be delivered in Spring 2022 with specific dates still to be confirmed.
This programme is fully funded by Badminton England and WheelPower and is a great opportunity for you to start your badminton coaching journey with Badminton England.
