The Open tournament this season took place over 2 weekends at Holmes Chapel leisure centre.

The first event was the Ladies Singles, and the entry list was as follows; Kara Robinson, Grace Litherland-Clews and Vicky Ringland.  Such a small turnout meant that we could run a small round-robin format with each lady playing 3 games to 21 points against each other.
Kara only managed to win 1 of her games, whilst Grace won 2.  However, the runaway winner, remaining undefeated on the day was Vicky Ringland.

Next up was the Men's Doubles, and the entries were: Dave Dodd & Steve Pickering, Jez Touch & Warren Simpson and Carl McGregor-Ogden & Manbun Lee.  Again a small turnout so the same 3x21 format was used.
Failing to register a win on the day were Carl & Manbun (although Carl had played a county veterans match in the morning), Jez & Warren manged 3 wins and 3 defeats, leaving Dave & Steve unbeaten with 6 victories and no defeats.

The last event on the first day was the Ladies Doubles.  Competing this season were; Kara Robinson & Grace Litherland-Clews, Ruth Raiswell & Claire Griffin and Zoe Raiswell & Vicky Ringland.  Another small turnout so the same 3x21 format was used.  
A much closer affair than the other events on  the day saw Kara & Grace record 2 wins to finish in rd place, Ruth & Claire won3 and lost 3 to finish runners-up whilst Zoe & Vicky managed to record 4 wins and 2 defeats to take the title.

The second day saw the remaining events take place, starting with the Men's singles.  Five brave souls took to the court; Peter Gartside, Jez Touch, Jack Raiswell, Dave Lee and Steve Pickering.
The competition was fierce and the last game of the day saw Jack and Steve take each other on having won all of their games so far, thus effectively giving us a 'final'.  Steve proved too strong winning 21-18, 21-12.

The final event was the Mixed Doubles, with 4 pairs entering; Ali Bowker & Jez Touch, Ruth Raiswell & Steve Pickering, Christine Rotherham & Phil Wall, Vicky Ringland & Jack Raiswell.
Once more results contrived to bring us an effective 'final' between Ruth & Steve and Vicky & Jack, both pairs having won all of their first 4 games.  In the 2 games against each other the results were 1-1, meaning that we had to look at the points scored in the 2 games.  Jack and Vicky came out on top having lost 20-21 but won 21-14.
